Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine sponsors residency training in emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, general surgery, neurological surgery, pharmacy practice, and a transitional year.
We sponsor fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry, infectious disease, pulmonary/critical care medicine, surgical critical care, and addition psychiatry.
All of our programs are fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) with the exception of neurological surgery, which is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The AOA also provides “dual accreditation” to our family medicine and internal medicine programs.
In addition, Carilion Clinic is actively engaged in the planning and development of new residency programs in pediatrics as well as a fellowship in cardiology.
