The Class of 2014 was asked to write essays before their White Coat Ceremony, explaining what receiving a white coat means to them. Cynda Ann Johnson, M.D., M.B.A., president and founding dean of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, reviewed the essays before the ceremony. She picked out common themes among them and read excerpts during the White Coat Ceremony.
